What is Nanowrimo? Nanowrimo is a contest where people come together and compete to hammer out 1 novel in 1 month, and 50,000 words.
The feat of sitting down and writing a novel in 1 month requires some serious commitment and is not for those who are easily distracted.
I’ve written before on my other sites, that writers are the worst people when it comes to procrastination.
The Pomera won’t take care of your procrastination problem but it will help with focus and word count.
The Pomera DM100 DOESN’T I repeat DOESN’T have the internet. No email. No facebook. No nothing.
That mean no distractions.
It’s just a barebones digital writing device. It’s similar to the AlphaNeo Smart only it has more features and looks nice.
The Pomera DM100 (Amazon) really is a great device for people who want NO distractions and just want to take notes, and get work done.
Can you write a novel on the Pomera?
Yes, the Pomera is capable of writing a novel. However, you do have a character limit on each text file.
Through consistent use, I know that each file will hold about 10,000 – 12,000 words. So if I were to write a novel for Nanowrimo, I would have to split it between 5 files.
Some people may think this is a downside to the Pomera. However, I find that this forces me to break my novel up into healthy 10,000 word parts that I manage.
The thing I’m MOST worried about is getting the novel finished. And to do that I need no distractions.
If you are participating in Nanowrimo going on right now in November, be sure to check out the Pomera DM100 for a device that is distraction free and will allow you to crank out those ideas.
